DJ Ripple started his musical training at age 12, playing guitar and the piano. He continued his career and studied sound design, theory and creation under Lou Mazzola, studied digital soundtrack editing & advanced sound design under Lauren Wenger, studied psychology of sound & sound principals with Scott Allen Wilson-Godoy (Synthetik, Robot Music) at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
He has produced tracks under such names as Space Cake, The id, Baba G & Earsplitten Loudenboomin. He currently works with One Mynd Studio out of Oakland, CA., as well as running his own "bedroom" remix/production studio.
As well as being a great beatmatcher, he dabbles in turntablism and has been known to throw down an occasional Hip Hop/ raggae/ turtablist set. He is proficient with turntables as well as CDJ units, and owns both. Knowledge of all major digital audio/MIDI programs. Professional studio experience, including the use of mastering hardware (multi-band EQ, compression & outboard effects). Complete understanding of analog & digital sound design. Maintenance & troubleshooting of both PC and Macintosh computers.
