A series of singles and remixes over the past three years, on labels such as Boombox Records, Kosmo and Functional Breaks, have gained the support of Andy Weatherall, Boy George, Annie Nightingale (Radio 1), Hybrid, Krafty Kuts, Scanty Sandwich, Scissorkicks, Anthony Pappa and Caspar Kedros (Headrillaz) among others. Stabilizer is now signed to the mighty Plastic Raygun and the first single release, What It Takes rose to Number 5 in the DJ Mag breaks chart as well as being described as "A Classic" by none other than Andy Weatherall. As well as the production, Stabilizer can be found despoiling the worldÕs ears in a breakbeat and punky house fashion in places as diverse as Bath, Bognor and Berlin, with a US tour planned. Armed with a bag of records and a sampler - with an emphasis firmly on good tunes and a good time - the Stabilizer DJ style is tight, varied and always full of energy. With genres ranging from Hip Hip and Funk via punky house all the way to the freshest nu-school breaks cuts. Only two rules... it's got to be good, and it's got to be funky. Stabilizer was "the name to watch in 2001" according to Danny MacMillan and with live shows and an album in the works, 2002 looks to be an even better year... |
