If
you are into cheeky party tunes, 2-step shakers and booty moving electro
madness, then Uncouth Youth are the who you're looking for.
Their debut single on Mechanoise was B-Boy on da Rocks, a sampladelic,
Dynamix II bass rumbler that became an anthem on the Miami Bass
scene as well as in the Youth's home country of England. Now the Youth
are crossing over into 2-step territory, hooking up with Breaks FM's
MC Dee to create "Steppin Up". This got them through the
2-step / UK Garage door without compromising their breakbeat
roots. Uncouth Youth have also been collaborating with 2-step Don,
J Da Flex (Ghost Trax) and will be releasing a series of 12"s
later in 2001.
